As acupuncturists we have long known the positive effect acupuncture has on IVF success rates. A new studyout this week and presented at the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology described research undertaken on 127 women at the Homerton NHS Trust in London undergoing their first or second round of IVF. The results showed a 46.2% pregnancy rate vs 21.7% pregnancy rate in the non-acupuncture group. This research adds to the growing body of evidence to support the use of acupuncture alongside IVF cycles. So if you or someone you know is considering IVF, it really is worth having acupuncture too.
